Sampling Setup Window

Using the Homer Sampling Setup Window (Fig. 27) is the easiest way to select the signal sampling and processing method (Waveform) and to define the corresponding sampling and triggering parameters, as well as the frequency counting time. For details of these settings, please refer to the previous subtopics of this Signal Waveforms and Sampling section.

The window can be opened by any of the following methods:

  • Signal Toolbar button

  • Homer|Sampling Setup menu item

  • Ctrl+Q shortcut key.

Fig. 27.  The three tabsheets of Homer Sampling Setup window.

The window includes three tabsheets, titled CW, Rectified, and Pulsed. In each of them, you can edit the yellow-highlighted edit boxes. The grayed fields are computed values, provided for information purposes (for example, Sampling Time in the CW tabsheet).

Irrelevant controls will be disabled (for example, Trig Level if CW tabsheet is active).

After entering the desired values, click the  Refresh  button. This will resolve errors or inconsistencies in the entered data (and inform you of the details), and compute the grayed values. The Refresh action is automatically also called when clicking the  Apply  button.

Please note that the actual value of Count Time will be the highest multiple of 16 ms that does not exceed the set value.

The window must be closed before continuing the program. You can do it using the  Apply  button, the  Cancel  button or the standard Windows close button (ยด).

  • To accept your edits, click the  Apply  button. The mode and parameters of the signal sampling (Waveform) will be set according to the currently active tabsheet.

  • If you click the  Cancel  button or the Windows close button, any changes you have made will be ignored.
